Veteran
Yoruba actor/director, Saheed Balogun, on Sunday, March 30, 2014, got pretty
upset at the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards, for not winning the directorial award.
At the
awards ceremony for the Yoruba sub-industry of Nollywood which was held in
Ibadan, Oyo state, Saheed lost out in the best director category and the actor
immediately stood up and stormed out of the premises.
He was
nominated for his work in ‘Alami Ayeni’, and others in his category were
Abiodun Olanrewaju, Kunle Afod, and Niji Akanni, who won the category.
Saheed
is presently in an ongoing tussle with ex-wife and fellow actor, Fathia
Balogun-Williams, over the latter’s insistence on holding on to his last name.
